Challenge: Make a film in 24 hours

The Science MediaLab members of the Nerd Herd and some fine people at AVTek entered a submission this weekend into the First Annual Hamilton 24 Hour Film Festival. The challenge? Create a film in 24 hours.

The event kicked off at 8:00pm on May 30th at the Staircase Theatre. The organizers randomly drawed three elements (a location, a prop, and a line of dialogue) that needed to be included within the film (to prevent people from filming content before the event and to put everyone on the same playing field).

And here are the three elements that were selected:

1. Location: Playground
2. Prop: Toilet plunger
3. Line of Dialogue: "Cuz, like you said, this is it, this is life."

We were expecting everyone to make a film about disenfranchised plumbers, so we decided to go a different route that wouldn't play on the obvious. Please join us at the festival screening & awards night, which will be held June 7th.
